Hi. I’m Matt Paxton from T.V.’s Hoarders, and I work with ServiceMaster. Feel that nip in the air? Winter’s on the way, and that means high heating bills and risks from freezing temperatures. You can’t change the weather, but you can change how it impacts your house.
Clean out your gutters to remove Fall leaves. Clogged gutters can build up ice dams, which can harm your roof, gutters and even seep into walls.
Flush your water heater to help remove mineral deposits and increase efficiency.
Set your fans to rotate clockwise; pushing warmer air down.
Replace furnace filters to enhance performance as well as improve the air quality in your home – especially during winter months.
Be sure to put insulating covers over exterior faucets to reduce the chance of frozen pipes. That will help warm things up.
